Where It All Began..

Old Soul has garnered a substantial cult following in the local Montreal music scene since 2017. Their magnetic live performances tap into the fearlessly raw, electric and free-spirited energy of the 60s and 70s which transports any listener to the golden era of rock. Old Soul is made up of the combined passion of Loreta Triconi (vocals), Peter Rallis (guitar), Joseph Bottaro (bass), and Ryan Palfalvi (drums). They set out with a unified vision to ignite nothing short of a rock’n’roll revolution.

Overgrown

Old Soul released their debut album Overgrown (2023) after years of shaking stages all over Montreal’s underground rock scene. This album is a culmination of the band’s earliest material, a manifestation of their young-hearted ambition, that was composed long before its release and was performed live for many years before reaching studio recording at Planet Studios.

Their first single “Fall Into Your Love” paints a modern psychedelic soundscape that highlights the influence of sixties artists like Jefferson Airplane, with the sultry and soaring Slick-like vocals, and Jimi Hendrix, with the droning, drippy layers of electric guitar and sitar. Their most-streamed track, “SWANKY” tributes to a heavier seventies Zeppelin-type sound; a balls-to-the-walls riff bolstered by guttural, cracking percussion, and thumping bottom-end, that leads up to a wildfire Page-like solo.

The success of Overgrown was celebrated at their sold-out release party at the Cabaret Lion D’Or in 2023. The album received notoriety after being featured on CHOM radio's rock ride highlight and Kahnawake’s K107.3FM. In the years following, Old Soul has performed over a hundred live concerts, with notable performances as opening acts for the legendary Kool and the Gang along with Gloria Gaynor (2023/Stranger’s in the Night GALA) as well as Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy (2025/Jamboree Festival).

This upcoming album promises an equally distinct artistic expression that stays true to their rock roots while exploring a wide array of musical influences. They will be hosting an album release event on November 13th at Cabaret Le Balcon. It promises to be an unforgettable night of live music and celebration of local independent art. Opening the night are The Space Wizards, another pillar of local talent in the Montreal music scene.
